Found your little piece of paradise? Let’s talk about putting a home on it.
A rural build comes with a few extra things to organise: septic systems, water tanks, driveways and power. We can help plan and coordinate those alongside your home, so they’re part of the conversation from the start.

Craftsmanship is in the details—and in the skilled hands of the people building your home.

At Fraemohs Homes Tasman, we draw on a Scandinavian design and craftsmanship tradition that began in 1968. Our builders carry that care through to your home, bringing out the natural beauty of timber and making every detail count.

Hi, we’re Kathy and Andy, the local owners of Fraemohs Homes Tasman. Based in Ruby Bay, we help people across Nelson, Tasman and Marlborough turn their ideas into homes they love.

We’re drawn to the things that make Fraemohs special: timeless Scandinavian design, beautiful timber and warm, comfortable spaces that feel good to live in.

Just as important to us is getting to know the people we’re building for—how you live, what matters to you and what you want from your new home.

Building starts with plenty of questions, and we’re always happy to talk them through. Whether you’re considering a full build, exploring a kitset or simply gathering ideas, we’d love to hear what you have in mind.

Imagine planning your new home from overseas… with this view to look forward to. 💙

Our client first contacted us in mid-May while living and working overseas. Since then, through phone calls, emails and video chats, we’ve worked together to bring their new solid timber home closer to reality.

With building consent approved, today marked an exciting milestone: their home began manufacture in the Fraemohs factory!

This beautiful site will soon be home to warm timber walls and many happy memories. We’re delighted to be helping make it happen.

Thinking about building in Nelson, Tasman or the Marlborough Sounds while you’re living elsewhere? We’re happy to talk through how we can help.

At Fraemohs Tasman, we can help plan your off-grid build and organise the services that make it work, from solar and battery storage to water tanks and wastewater. We bring those conversations into the planning early, alongside the home itself.

Tell us about your piece of land and the way you want to live. Let’s work out what’s possible.

Stepping inside at this stage is always a bit special — the structure is up, the insulation and services are in place, and everything’s now ready for GIB. You can really start to picture how the rooms will feel day to day.

For our clients, this is an exciting milestone as we head into the finishing stages — lining goes on, then stopping, and before long we’re moving into the details that make it feel like home.

Love the warmth of timber but prefer a balanced interior? Pair solid timber walls with clean GIB ceilings, or add timber selectively through matchlining ceilings and feature walls. The result: a home that feels warm, considered and uniquely yours.
