This space was completely stripped out from top to bottom and rebuilt with modern finishes, a better layout and a fresh, updated feel. The difference it makes is massive. Warmer, more functional and a bathroom that now works for everyday living.

Throw back to this project working with the team at Codde Aluminium Ltd. Check out how these windows were looking before I installed the new insert windows.

A simple upgrade that makes a massive difference. Not only does it update the look of the house, it keeps it warmer, more weather tight, and far more efficient for the owners.

How good is it to see progress on this extension. Another week wrapped up with frames up, trusses stood, and the RAB board on. It’s an enjoyable project and great to watch it start taking shape.

Big thanks to Protrade Wairarapa for the site scaffolding, keeping everything safe and running smoothly on site.

Awesome to end another week with great progress on site. The floor has gone down and it’s at this stage you can really start to visualise the project and how everything is going to come together.

👀 𝗣𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗡𝗘𝗪 𝗦𝗜𝗚𝗡𝗔𝗚𝗘

August has kicked off strong with site fencing up and work underway on this house extension. Always a good feeling getting a new project out of the ground and seeing the site take shape. This one is going to be an awesome build and I am stoked to be working with my clients to bring their ideas to life and create a space that suits their home and lifestyle.

The early stages are all about setting up the site properly, planning ahead, and making sure everything is ready for the next steps. Plenty more progress to come as we move through the build and start bringing the structure together.

Good to see our past apprentice Jackson Clendon Motorsport back behind the wheel this weekend.

All the best for this season!

Finally back out competing this weekend at Rally Taumarunui!

Nearly 3 years out the car, can’t wait to get back to chasing the dream!

Taumarunui will be a good warmup for a return to the NZRC at Rally Hawkes Bay in a couple of weeks.

Thankful to have Katrina Renshaw along side for this event.

It has been busy around here and we are kicking off some exciting projects. We have been flat out over the winter months with a range of jobs, including this complete reroof for my clients. The sun even decided to come out for a crisp Wairarapa day which made the finish look even better.

Meet the newest apprentice at Mike Preston Construction... Lily! 🐾

She was more than happy to pose beside our new signage on another stunning Wairarapa winter's day. While we're not convinced she's much help on the tools just yet, she's certainly doing her part to represent the team.

As a proud family business, it's moments like these that remind us what it's all about. 2026 has already been one of our best years yet, and we're incredibly grateful for the continued support from our clients and the wider Wairarapa community.

We've got some exciting projects already underway, with another big one set to kick off later this year. We can't wait to share the journey and show you what's coming next.

For now, Lily's hoping this modelling gig earns her a few more appearances on site... we'll see if she can convince the boss! 🐶
