Anthony Balks Building Ltd, commonly known as ABB Ltd, was established in 2018. ABB is a family owned company, director, Anthony Balks started his building career back in 2004 at the fresh age of 15 when he completed 2 weeks of work experience for a local building company, they offered Anthony a BCITO apprenticeship where he gained his Certificate in Carpentry which alongside a few years building
a variety of building work and learning from seasoned Forman’s, organically progressed towards completing a National Certificate in Construction Trade Supervision. Thus, giving Anthony the confidence, skills, knowledge and building experience to go out on his own as ABB Ltd, a privately owned building company
Nic Vorster has been with us since the beginning. He worked through his own BCITO building apprenticeship with us in late 2018 and gained his tradesman qualification in 2021. Nic is a valued part of our team and together with Ants complete building work to a high standard delivering beautiful workmanship in a timely manner. With over 10 years office administration experience Anthony’s wife Carmel Balks jumped into the office seat in 2020, giving Anthony more time away from the paperwork and on the tools pushing projects forward. Carmel helps manage all aspects of the office including Health & Safety and is now dabbling into the project management side after helping Anthony manage building their own new home build in 2016 and again in 2019
As a team ABB have developed great working relationships with local contractors who wish to deliver great outcomes for our clients and together undertake the following types of building work ranging from complete build projects to labor only contracts for;
