Rich Hill Stud’s proven stallions ACE HIGH, PROISIR, SATONO ALADDIN and SHOCKING will be represented by six runners across Group 1, Group 2 and Group 3 races at Flemington on Saturday’s Victoria Derby Day.
Super exciting filly Satono Glow (SATONO ALADDIN) takes on Race 6, the Gr.1 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m), from barrier 4. Looking for her fifth win at just her sixth start, she will be chasing her maiden Group 1 victory after already recording two Group 3 wins and a Group 2 success. Bred by Dr Phil Chen, Satono Glow has firmly announced herself as a filly with a bright future and now takes aim at the elite level.
Jenni Multabella (ACE HIGH) heads to Race 8, the Gr.1 Empire Rose Stakes (1600m), from barrier 2. The mare has been knocking on the door with three consecutive runner-up finishes and will look to turn that consistency into a breakthrough stakes success. Bred by Cambria Park Partnership, she was sold through their 2023 Karaka Book 1 draft for $130,000.
Grand campaigner Here To Shock (SHOCKING) takes on Race 5, the Gr.2 Damien Oliver (1400m), from barrier 10. The proven stakes performer boasts an impressive record, including the Gr.1 BCD Group Sprint (1400m), and will be looking to add another feature-race success to his already accomplished career. He was bred by The Sunlight Trust.
Shintono (SATONO ALADDIN) contests Race 2, the Gr.3 Vanity (1400m), from the inside barrier 1. The filly returns from a spell after showing plenty of promise in her first preparation, including a stakes placing. Bred by Matthew Upton, she will be looking to build on that early promise and make her mark this spring.
By champion sire PROISIR, Hankee Alpha (PROISIR) contests Race 4, the Gr.3 Rising Fast Stakes (1200m), from barrier 4. She announced herself in Australia with a dominant six-length victory over the Flemington straight 1200m and returns to the course and distance seeking her first stakes success. Bred by Tony and Nikki Brown, Hankee Alpha was sold through Highline Thoroughbreds’ 2023 Karaka Yearling draft.
Grand Impact (SATONO ALADDIN) also lines up in the Gr.3 Rising Fast Stakes (1200m), drawing barrier 20. A former Group 3 winner, the gelding brings proven stakes-class ability to the contest and will be looking to add another feature-race performance to his record. Bred by Okaharau Station Ltd, he was sold following a trial victory as a two-year-old.
Best of luck to all connections as Rich Hill Stud’s stallions are represented on one of the biggest days of the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival! 🏇
