The cooler nights are slowing down, and if you're taking the opportunity to clean the fire while it's not needed daily, here are some tips.
Glass gone smoky? A damp cloth dipped in a bit of cool ash works surprisingly well, or use a proper fireplace glass cleaner. Skip the harsh chemicals as that can wear down the seal over time.
Ash piling up? Once the fire's completely cool, clear it out but leave a small layer (2 to 3cm) at the base. It actually helps insulate for your next burn.
