FRP Heavy Duty Mesh Grating — Mangaturuturu Bridge, Ruapehu
Bridge decks in alpine bush present a specific set of demands: vehicle loads, constant leaf and stick debris, exposure to wind and rain, and a remote location where any return visit costs money. Our FRP Heavy Duty Mesh Grating was used for the Mangaturuturu bridge on the Te Hanga Ruru trail (part of the Mountains to Sea network). The 50 mm moulded fibreglass effectively handles the load requirements, and can withstand long-term alpine exposure without corrosion. Public walkway bridges get used by all sorts of people in all kinds of weather — pedestrians, cyclists, parents with prams, dog walkers, all year round. At Dallington Bridge in Christchurch, our FRP mini mesh grating spans the bridge deck, and anti-slip nosing strips line the timber walkway.
