A couple of weeks ago we hung these dark gold fleck and gold palm print wallpapers in the Municipal Theatre in Napier. This was one of the final things to be done for the renovation of the toilets, and just in time for the Opera to open its doors at the theatre for Napiers biggest annual celebration - the Art Deco festival.

It’s always a joy to see a project in its final stages and all the hard work that’s gone into it before we arrive, and you certainly can’t beat working in one of the city’s most iconic venues!

Thanks to Flair Decorating and MCL Construction for being a breeze to work alongside, we look forward to teaming up with you again soon, and - looking great!

You never quite know what secrets your house might hold…

We’ve been doing a bit of work on an old villa in Napier recently and counted no less than 6 layers of wallpaper in one room, including the original 1920’s paper (dark and floral!). This house seems to have undergone several transformations over the years, from damage in the 1931 earthquake and subsequent restoration, to the top layer of neutral wallpaper applied in 1995.

An interesting snapshot of changing interior fashions over the last century - we love the bright orange, yellow and green 1970’s paper!

Another cool installation to round off the year - this one features the sumptuous ‘Le palais des vents - Secrets d’atelier’ wallpaper all the way from France. Complimented by a border of Hemlock at the base, we love how it has pulled this whole room together, and it was great to be able to fit it in before we have a well deserved break. Thanks to for working with us again, we love your style!

We aren’t just the Queens of Paperhanging, we paint too!

Cream Can and Golden Tainoi on the walls, Ultimate Matt Enamel (one of our absolute favourite products!) in 1/4 Spanish White on the ceiling, and Aquatrim Enamel, also in 1/4 Spanish White for the woodwork.

This living space went from bland and gloomy to happy and fresh - what a way to modernise and bring some joy into every day!
