From a bare patch of dirt to a tidy little setup! 👌

Concrete pad we poured Friday, deboxed today and the new fuel tank is sitting nicely in place. Plenty of room left on the pad too, so we’ve got space for a handy little storage shed beside it.

Some beautiful Redwood I’m working with at the moment for a client! 🪵👌

Absolutely loving the character and grain in this timber. There’s something pretty special about working with quality Redwood like this.

Can’t wait to share the finished product once it’s all done… but I’ll keep the details under wraps for now. 🤫

🚪 Another little repair job ticked off!

Got the call from Tikokino Playcentre — their fire exit door was getting pretty hard to open.

Had a look and found the problem… 3 out of 4 hinges were broken! 😳😂

Quick trip back to Hastings for some new hinges, back out, fixed up and the fire exit is good to go again. 🔨👌

While I was there, I also threw a new latch on one of the gates.

Another job sorted and another community facility keeping on going! 💪

Mint day out there today! ☀️ Got this concrete pad laid and finished up, with a little weasel coming out to supervise the whole operation. 🐾😂
If they weren’t so bloody evil, they’d actually be pretty cute!
Big thanks to Rob from CrewMix — even with a blowout on the way, he was committed to getting here on time. Tyre changed, concrete poured, pad finished and job done! 💪
Like the sign says — NO LIMITS!

Bit of a change of scenery lately... 🚁🔧

Traded the tool belt for the toolbox and dusted of the Ole spanners! I've spent the last couple of weeks up to my elbows in a helicopter.
Most people know me as a builder, but before that I was a mechanic. Getting the chance to strip down and work on one of these machines was something else. It was bloody impressive seeing it all come apart and start to go back together.
Safe to say the young bloke in me was grinning from ear to ear. Not every day you get to swing spanners on a chopper instead of building sheds and fixing farm gear.
Back to the building game now...... but I wouldn't say no if another helicopter rolled into the hangar. 😉🚁🔧

It's been a shed of a week... 😅
We had a couple more sheds repaired on a farm this week. Rotten, broken timber out, new framing in, and the iron repaired or replaced where needed. Good, solid repairs that'll keep the weather where it belongs.

Bit fresh this morning... frozen puddles, a decent frost, and the coffee didn't stay hot for long! But that's the price you pay for working waaay up country. Hard to complain when this is the office. 🥶🌄

Today's mission was sorting the back wall on this 17m farm shed. Peeled the old iron off, threw out all the rotten timber that'd well and truly done its dash, threw in some new framing, then slapped on some new iron back on.

She's solid as now. That old shed reckons she's got a few more seasons left in her yet... and that's one less job for the farmer to mutter about every time he drives past! 😂🔨🚜

Bit of work on the farm? No worries.
Dug out the cattle yards to make way for a new 3-way cattle crush, boxed it up, and poured the concrete. One of those jobs that'll make things a whole lot easier come stock work.
Always good getting stuck into a practical farm job. 🐂🚜

Curved walls... now that's a bit more of a challenge!
This old fish tank was removed and transformed into a pretty special feature. We turned the space into a custom curved display that ties in the owners' Hawke's Bay roots with their love of boating on Lake Taupō.
There's a lot more to this project than meets the eye, and plenty of work hidden behind the scenes, but the end result speaks for itself. Stoked with how this one came together!
