My latest project, electrifying a Surly touring bike.

My customer arrived from New York with her newly purchased used bike. She tried it on the hills of Aotearoa and shrieked, “I need a motor!”
I fitted a BBSHD Bafang partnered with a big 48 volt 24.5 Amp Hour strap on battery. Her cassette was worn out so a brand new Eagle 10-50 was fitted.
I tweaked it all up and had a quick speed test, 35 miles per hour on the flat! That will give her heaps of climbing power on our NZ trails.

My workshop is very full at present I have been doing repairs and maintenance along with a Bafang motor overhaul on a MeloYelo, a recumbent electrification, a folding bike battery repair, assembly of a new Evinci Tui mid drive which I am delivering tomorrow along with other bikes needing chain replacement etc.

Lovely ladies full of smiles stopped by for yummy icecreams, they've noticed our flag by the road ❤️ Sharon's mum thought to stay in the car first, but when Sharon told her how much it changed inside and that we know each other from the kindergarten, she was excited to have a look and I think we filled each others cups today for sure 🥰

I wish my mum wouldn't be so far, across the ocean.. I will definitely take her for an icecream again next time I see her 🥰

Today’s project, fitting an electric kit to a customer’s cruiser bike.
The Dillenger front wheel drive kit was perfect for this purpose as the customer is predominantly going to ride his bike on the street.

A couple of days in Blenheim last week catching up with maintenance on my clients bikes.
We parked up in our camper at my nephew and his wife’s beautiful Renwick vineyard.
I ended up servicing 6 bikes and picked up some very nice Wairau River Wine where Nick is the operations manager and one of the winemakers.
