Today we say farewell to Jordan, our Health and Safety Manager, as he wraps up an incredible 12 years with the team.

Over that time, Jordan has put in place systems that have made our sites safer and our people more confident in how we work. His commitment to making sure everyone gets home safe at the end of the day has shaped the way we operate, and that legacy will stay with us long after today.

On Friday we gathered for his leaving party, with plenty of laughs, a few speeches and more than a couple of good stories. It was a great chance to celebrate everything he’s done for the business and the people in it.

Jordan, you’ll be genuinely missed around here. Thank you for everything, and all the very best for whatever comes next.

Morrison Square is taking shape! 🏗️

Last week we celebrated a big milestone: the roof shout for the Reform building. A huge thank you to our team, subcontractors, consultants and client for getting us here safely. Nothing beats a BBQ with the crew to mark the moment.

One of the best parts of this project has been watching it grow through our time-lapse cameras. Months of work compressed into a few minutes is a great reminder of just how much happens on site every single day. It’s pretty amazing what technology lets us capture now.

126 Salisbury, Richmond: a day on site

A few weeks into the next stage at 126 Salisbury and the site is buzzing. Here's a glimpse of what a day looks like for our team, captured by our very own Kelsey.

From early starts and toolbox talks to demolition, groundworks and infrastructure upgrades, there's a lot happening at once.

It's hands-on, carefully planned work on a busy construction site. Our crew is making sure it's done safely, respectfully and right for the community who'll call this place home next year.

Double the Hiab, double the efficiency

We're lucky to have great plant on hand to help tackle the more complex lifts and deliveries onsite, and this week we went one better with two Hiab trucks working side by side.

Having both on site meant we could move materials faster, handle the tricky placements safely, and keep the job flowing without the downtime. Good planning and the right gear make all the difference.

A big thanks to Emmsy for the expertise behind the operation and for capturing these great shots.

Big news for Morrison!

We're thrilled to see BNZ confirmed as the anchor tenant at the new Morrison precinct on Hardy Street, with their Nelson branch and Partners Centre moving in once complete.

This project is a real team effort, with 45 local subcontractors and consultants involved, most of them based right here in Nelson and Tasman. A huge thanks to Morrison Square Development Co for the opportunity, and welcome aboard BNZ!

Morrison Square Development’s Craig Dennis shows BNZ CEO Dan Huggins the plans for the new BNZ branch and Partners Centre at Morrison following a staff walkabout today. In 2027 BNZ will return to Hardy Street where its first Nelson branch was opened in 1862.

Congratulations, Brianna!

We're incredibly proud to celebrate Brianna, who has just qualified as a Quantity Surveyor!

Brianna first joined the Scott Construction team as our receptionist, and she quickly showed the curiosity, drive and eye for detail that make a great QS. Over the past few years she's balanced her study with a full workload, putting in plenty of late nights and never once losing her positive attitude.

A big part of her journey has been the support and mentoring from Matt, our Senior QS, and MJ, our Commercial Manager, who have backed her every step of the way. It's a great example of what's possible when talent, hard work and a supportive team come together.

Today the team got together for a morning tea to celebrate her achievement, a well-deserved chance to say congratulations and thank her for everything she brings to the team.

Brianna, you've earned this. We can't wait to see what you achieve next!

The new museum archives building is coming along nicely.

Huge thanks to Harry and the crew, who are doing an awesome job on site. It's a pretty special project to be part of, helping look after the region's history for years to come.

Rebuilding ITM Takaka

After the fire, we're proud to be delivering the new ITM Takaka store — built on the existing slab and attached to a still-functioning drive-through, keeping the wider building operational throughout the works.

Our team is excited to help give ITM Takaka a home again, and we're working closely with the ITM team every step of the way to get this one over the line.

A big shoutout to Henry, Levi and Matt P, who've been away from home to make this happen — your effort doesn't go unnoticed.

From the lineout to the site office — proud to see our QS Chris Jack featured as a Legend on TVNZ Sport's One For the Roadie.

Before he was crunching numbers and keeping our projects on budget, Chris was pulling on the black jersey 67 times for the All Blacks — a lineout specialist and one of the most respected locks of his generation.

These days he brings that same work ethic and attention to detail to the team at Scott Construction, and it's great to see his rugby story get the recognition it deserves.

NEW JOB UNDERWAY — Scott Construction Central

We're excited to be on site with our latest project: a 3-storey and 4-storey apartment block, built side by side on the same sections.

This one's a real test of sequencing. With the larger building taking up most of the site, access to the lower apartment block becomes tight fast — so staging and planning are everything here.

Progress so far:
Existing building removed and site cleared
Out of the ground
Now underway with block wall foundations and backfill to the lower building

The challenge ahead: keeping access open throughout the build and making sure we don't box ourselves in as the site gets tighter.

It's the kind of job that keeps our team sharp — great problem-solving from the crew so far.
