Absolutely brassed off with the sheer stupidity of worksafe nz changing the legislation on the nz3000 standards on switching the PEN (earth lead). Aussies are laughing at the irony and insanity of this, worksafe ignoring electrical inspectors association and have passed a motion with incorrect or no consultation. Creating a legislative change to make dwellings electrically unsafe.
Bloody Muppets. Prime example of a panel of so called experts ignoring technical intelligence directly from the industry affected. And guess who gets thrown under the bus when it all goes wrong.

Hi everyone, looks like a major power outage with transpower loss of supply to top of the south island and parts of the coast. Could be a few hours.
Nows a good time to check your work fleet. First aid kits, stock take, any necessary equipment and/or plant maintenance with the down time. Especially if you have staff, cheers guys

The dangers of high resistance connections. As you can see the insulation breaks down, exposing live conductors and touch voltage to metal work is present. It also causes high current to associated components. A great example of the need for routine maintenance in a commercial environment.

Here is an example of a Ducted positive air pressure system installed by a "specialist" company in the heat recovery and ventilation trade. The duct isn't cut to length. It has blown out to its maximum, minimizing air flow causing loses in pressure and efficiency.
While on another job in the crawl space, EnduraVolt corrected this, by shortening the duct to length and now the system does what it should.

Latest switchboard upgrade. Safe and away with the old ceramic fuses holders. As you can see with previous jobs. A lot of different configurations depending where metering and main switches are located. Can be cheaper than you think.

If you have an old switchboard (eg from electrical fire photo or ceramic fuses - pictured bottom right), EnduraVolt can update it, with a new back panel. The very real dangers of heat, fan, light units. To all the people out there thinking about bathroom renovations. DO NOT use heat, fan, light units!!! There is not enough air flow to pass over the heat lamps to prevent them from burning out. This unit is less than a year old.
Best to get separate fan, light and wall heater. Much better air flow with a dedicated fan.
