🌧️ Weather Warning: Crews on Standby for Storm Damage 🌳

Metservice has issued a weather warning for the Nelson Tasman region, with the worst of the storm expected to hit Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Heavy rain may cause surface flooding, so please drive carefully and keep clear of rapidly rising waterways.

At Nelson Tree Specialists, our crews are on standby, ready to respond to any storm-related tree damage. The Council strongly advises everyone to stay out of reserves, as there are increased risks of falling trees, track inundation, and potential land instability.

Wow this Nelson summer just keeps on going! Lovely old Liquid ambar tree that we first reduced around 10 years ago and this is its fifth prune. Happy to say it looks awesome.

We have our crew on standby for any storm damage. Heavy rain warning in place for areas northwest of Motueka and the Bryant Range, also inland Marlborough west of Blenheim and north of the Awatere River, expect upward of 20mm to 30mm per hour from about lunchtime today. Just to really spice things up, a strong wind watch has also been declared over the entire district, with wind gusts more than 70kmh expected throughout today and overnight tonight. We all know the consequences of wet soils and strong winds, high chance of windthrow impacting roads about the district, take extreme care out there over the next 24 hours.

We had the pleasure of pruning an amazing avenue of protected trees in Nelson this week. Mixture of Pin oak and Red oak. Lots of deadwooding but they came up looking great. Perfect to work alongside and get this job completed. 🌲
