A week ago, there was no concrete here.
A few days later, the fence was in.
And now — a lush, structured courtyard taking shape.

This commercial planting project in Richmond came together fast, but nothing was rushed. The brief was simple: dense, layered planting that would soften the space and grow into something special over time.

With the groundwork done properly, this garden will only get better with every season.

New build front yards often start like this — rubble, concrete, and a tricky bank to deal with.

In one day, we reshaped the front bank, set rock edges, and created a clean base ready for driveways, lawns, and planting. It’s not the finished garden yet, but it’s the foundation everything else depends on.

This is how good outdoor spaces begin — solving the hard parts first and building from there.

It’s summer in Nelson, and this is exactly what outdoor living should feel like ☀️🌿

What started as a narrow concrete patio and an awkward paved area is now a generous kwila deck with space to relax, entertain, and actually use the backyard. Clean lines, solid craftsmanship, and thoughtful details — all designed to make the space work better for everyday living.

We’ve also freshened things up with new fencing and trellis for added privacy, and we’re in the process of finishing the area with artificial grass using Lifestyle Lawns — an instant lift that brings colour, softness, and year-round usability to the space.

We’ll be back soon to show you the final result once everything’s laid and finished — but already, the transformation speaks for itself.

This project at St. Joseph’s School has come together just as the school hoped — a peaceful area where students can sit, play, and enjoy a little quiet time outdoors.
