Interesting little project we completed recently.
A Fronius Hybrid Solar Installation.
See last slide (4) for a capture of the monitoring software.
The intention.
- To have a backup system in the event of a power loss.
- To have enough self sufficiency to charge the batteries during the daytime, and cover the load of the household appliances.
- To consume as little as possible from the electricity grid.
- To have a smart interface of EV car charger, that will not take energy from the batteries, but only from the Solar energy, or from the grid.
- Priorities. Charge the batteries. Cover the connected loads. Export excess to the grid.
The Installation.
✅ 12kWh of BYD Battery backup
✅ Increase capacity of their existing solar energy by installing 12 x additional REC Alpha Pure-R 430W panels.
✅ Fronius Wattpilot EV charger
✅ Fronius Gen24 6.0kW Inverter
✅ Separate existing household circuits into essential and non-essential categories during battery backup mode.

Another day another long cable install. 285 metres of cable to a new builders temporary supply for a new dwelling.
The 20 tonne digger on site certainly made light work of it!
