A closer look at the details that make this kitchen work beautifully.

It’s all in the clever storage - from the pull-out pantry that keeps everything easy to see and access, to the corner LeMans unit making the most of an otherwise awkward space.

And one of our favourite practical details: the double rubbish bin drawer, keeping two bins neatly tucked away and right where you need them.

A closer look at the finished kitchen.

After sharing the transformation last week, here’s a closer look at the finished space and the materials that bring the design together.

The dramatic black acrylic cabinetry on the back wall creates a strong focal point, paired with Snowdrift Naturale Melteca cabinetry throughout the rest of the kitchen.

The crisp White Ice engineered stone benchtops keep the space light and fresh, while the tiled splashback adds texture and works beautifully alongside the warmth of the natural timber ceiling and exposed beams.

To the back of the island, we added a Profile Panels Crete – Cliff Stone Beige feature panel, bringing a subtle earthy texture into the space and tying the different elements together.

Every detail was considered to create a kitchen that feels modern and sophisticated while still working beautifully within the character of the home.

From an original 1980s kitchen to a completely transformed space — we loved bringing our clients’ vision to life.

This transformation is a perfect example of what’s possible when you take a client’s vision and bring it to life.

The original kitchen was completely transformed with a sleek, modern design catered around a full wall of black cabinetry - creating a bold statement while providing plenty of practical storage.

Tricky access? We’ll find a way.

This benchtop was never going to be an easy one to get into place. With difficult access to the property, we couldn’t simply carry it in the usual way.

So we called in a Hiab to lift the benchtop over the front deck… and that was only the beginning!

From there, we still had to carefully manoeuvre it through the house and into position.

These are the kinds of challenges we love at AJ’s Kitchens — tricky spaces, challenging access and builds that require a bit of creative thinking. We don’t just build kitchens; we work out how to make the difficult bits work too.

Because when the usual way won’t work, we find another way.

Finished with Laminex Snowdrift Puregrain cabinetry and White Diamond engineered stone benchtops, the space now feels brighter, more open, and far more practical for everyday living.
