Just wanna say a big thank you to everyone who’s shown love so far. The shares, messages and koha mean everything to us.

We’ve raised $200 already through our Givealittle and koha account, and we’re honestly so grateful. That’s our people backing what we’re trying to do and we're feeling the aroha 🥰.

We’re still flat out with booked mahi but can’t wait to free up and start helping our whānau get warm and dry

Ngā mihi for all the messages, shares and support ❤️, we didn’t expect it to blow up like this but at the same time we know the need is real with so many whānau dealing with leaking roofs and homes that are hard to keep up with. It’s just the reality in a lot of our rural communities.

You might’ve seen us out today working on one of the local shops in town so we’ve been flat out with mahi. I’ve been thinking a lot about how we move forward and we feel a Givealittle is the best way to get things started while we keep pushing through our normal business work. That way we can still do these repairs in our spare time for whānau who need it most. Our labour is free ✨️ and koha will go straight into materials and costs 💯.

If you’re sending through a repair request please include your address, photos, and a bit of detail about what’s going on so we can understand each situation properly. All info stays private and anonymous, and if your whānau is chosen we’ll share the mahi once it’s done so people can see where the support is going.

A kaupapa to help keep whānau homes dry, safe, and protected through roofing awhi and koha support.

Kia ora whānau

We wanted to share something that’s been sitting close to our hearts ❤️.

The past 7 months have been a real grind for us. We started this business out of the struggle of trying to find steady work and at times it has been what kept us going when things were really tight.

It's still not fully steady for us but we've kept building it slowly and learning as we go.

Along the way it's shown us how hard things are for our people. The cost of living keeps rising and for a lot of whānau even basic things like a safe warm dry roof or small repairs are becoming harder to afford.

That's really sat with us....

So we decided we would use what we already have to help where we can ✨️

We've been putting aside good quality materials from completed jobs and with the help of koha and support from others we can also top up what is needed with new materials when required so nothing goes to waste and everything gets put back into helping someone else.

We are in a position where we can offer our time for free to reroof or repair homes for whānau who truly need it starting with our kaumātua.

Our goal is simple One kaumātua home reroofed each year and helping with repairs wherever we can in between.

We are grateful to say we already have enough together to begin our first free roof repair and that means a lot to us.

This isn’t about money for us. Money isn't everything but stability is. The business is still not fully steady, but we are continuing to build it slowly. What we do have is time, skills, and the ability to work with materials as they come through. If materials are supplied through koha or gathered over time, there's always something we can do, and always a way we can help. We really value any advice, awhi, or support for the business side of things as well, as it helps us grow into something more stable so we can keep this kaupapa going long term.

Choosing who receives these repairs isn't going to be easy for us and that's where we really need the awhi of our community to help guide us and make sure it goes to the whānau who need it most.

This is something we are building slowly and with aroha and the hope that over time it can help more whānau have safe warm dry homes.
