A pretty cool project to wrap up the week!

Our Surfacing team championed a new scooter and bike track at Te Pākihi o Maru, completed just in time for the kids to hit the ground running when Term 4 starts on Monday.

The team brought the track to life with some jumps, road markings, crossings, give ways and stop markings, with Fulton Hogan completing the linemarking on our behalf.

It’s a fun way for tamariki to build their confidence and road awareness while having a bit of a hoon around.

Awesome to be involved in a project like this for the Te Pākihi community.

Our Oamaru, Dunedin and Central Otago teams kicked off the day with a BBQ breakfast before heading out to work across the regions.

It's not often everyone gets a chance to stop and catch up, so mornings like these are always appreciated. A chance to grab a feed, have a yarn, and set the day up before getting stuck into the work ahead.

Thanks to everyone who helped organise breakfast, and to our crews for everything they do throughout the week.

🚧 Hillgrove-Moeraki Road Overlay Project 🚧

From 28 September through to 31 October, our crews will be carrying out road resurfacing works on Hillgrove-Moeraki Road as part of an overlay project to improve the road for everyone who uses it.

As with any road works, there will be temporary traffic management in place, reduced speeds through our site, and occaisional delays, so please allow a little extra time for your journey. Our traffic management team will be on site to help keep everyone moving safely.

We know road works can be inconvenient at times, and we'd like to thank the residents, visitors, and regular road users in advance for their patience while we complete these improvements.

Dunedin WCL team's very own Pete Labes running the full Dunedin marathon, his second marathon attempt for the year and it was only a couple of weeks ago he ran the Clyde classic half marathon.

He also still has a couple more marathons to go this year.

As his team mates say "He is an inspiration of a man".

🌿 Getting stuck in for our community!

Over the weekend, some of our WCL team headed to Lake Dunstan to support the Lake Dunstan Charitable Trust’s annual shoreline clean-up.

WCL provided a truck, chipper and two operators to help clear weeds and material from the shoreline, making it safer and more accessible for the community to enjoy.

A huge thank you to Tim Ashmore, Martin Hoodless, Chrissy Fox, Kris Godkin and Tori Fleming for putting in a big day and going the extra mile to get the job done — and to the Lake Dunstan Charitable Trust for the mahi you put into this great community initiative.

Proud to see our people getting amongst it and giving back to the communities we work in.
