Mesh guard or Flowmate — which one is actually worth it? 🍃

It’s a fair question. There are plenty of leaf protection products out there, and they don’t all work the same way.

Here’s the difference:

Mesh guards cover the top of the entire spouting, keeping leaves and debris out. But over time, they can sag, rust or leave gaps where debris and rodents can get through.

Flowmate takes a different approach. Instead of covering the whole spouting run, it sits directly over the downpipe outlet. Leaves and debris collect around the Flowmate while water continues to flow through.

🌪️ If a storm damages your spouting, does insurance actually cover it?

Usually, yes, if you can prove it. After a bad blow, most claims come down to one thing: whether the damage was properly documented before repairs started.

📸 What to do before you call anyone:

✅ Photograph the damage from multiple angles, straight after the storm
✅ Note the date and the weather event itself
✅ Don't repair anything until it's been assessed or photographed
