Exposed aggregate is a sharp option — hard-wearing, low maintenance, and looks the part. Running a half black tint through it to dull down the cement and really bring the stone through. Solid combo.

After a rental property was unfortunately damaged by a vehicle impact, we worked alongside the insurance company to fully restore and upgrade the home.

New double glazed window and weatherboard replacement completed as part of a bathroom renovation.

The existing window position was limiting the layout, so we reworked the opening to allow enough space for a properly sized shower. At the same time, the original joinery had begun to fail, with moisture tracking in and causing damage to surrounding timber.

We removed the existing window, replaced any affected framing, installed new building wrap, and fitted a new double-glazed unit in the updated position.

New weatherboards were installed and finished to match the existing exterior, restoring the home’s weather-tightness while also improving the functionality of the bathroom layout.

A practical upgrade that not only looks good but allows the space to work as it should.

What started off as replacing a few weatherboards due to fungal rot quickly turned into a full rebuild of the wall.

Once we opened things up, it was clear the damage had spread further than expected — with compromised framing needing to be removed and replaced to ensure the structure was sound and built to last.

It’s a good reminder that what you see on the surface doesn’t always tell the full story, especially with moisture and rot. Taking the time to do it properly now avoids much bigger issues down the track.
