Simply Joinery is a small locally owned and operated business manufacturing high quality custom built joinery. Originally from the Marlborough, owner/operator Glen Godsiff completed his apprenticeship in Blenheim then moved to the Tasman district. Here he spent 11 years working for reputable companies and alongside award winning architects, gaining experience in traditionally made solid timber joinery, including solid timber windows and doors, stairs and cabinetry. Simply Joinery prides it’s self in maintaining a high standard of work, by incorporating modern joinery’s innovative ideas and products along side traditional methods of construction. Resulting in joinery that looks great, functions well and stands up to the demands of everyday living. With a high attention to detail and professional approach taken to all projects, Simply Joinery is able to achieve results that live up to all expectations and dreams.

Today we had the pleasure of attending the soft opening of the beautiful Furneaux Lodge in the heart of the Marlborough Sounds.

We’re incredibly proud to have played a part in bringing this project to life, creating the bar and reception pieces that will welcome guests to this very special destination.

But for us, this project means a little more than just good joinery. ❤️

The Marlborough Sounds holds a special place in our family’s history, with generations of memories and connections to this incredible part of New Zealand. To now have a little piece of our own craftsmanship sitting here, amongst the landscapes that mean so much to our family, makes this project particularly close to our hearts.

There’s something pretty special about being able to combine what we love doing with a place that feels like home — even if getting there involves a boat ride and a reminder that some of New Zealand’s best spots can’t be reached by simply jumping in the car! 🚤

A huge congratulations to the team behind Furneaux Lodge on bringing this beautiful place to life. We’re proud to have been involved and can’t wait to see the memories made here for years to come.

A little bit of family history, a lot of craftsmanship, and a very good excuse to visit the Sounds. 🍃🥂

This old Kenepuru Sound original has received a fair amount of love over winter. Its great to see that she's really taking shape now.

Our solid timber windows look right at home against the originals I reckon.

We know things have been a little quiet on our social pages lately… but we promise, the tools haven’t stopped humming! Behind the scenes and out in the workshop, our team has been busy bringing ideas to life, forming great new relationships with clients, planning exciting projects for the months ahead, and welcoming new staff to help us keep up with what’s coming next.

Ready for delivery to site this week. All our timber joinery is designed and built to meet NZS 4211 compliance. Double-glazed and perimeter-sealed, our timber windows and doors offer excellent thermal efficiency in both warm and cool conditions. And they look great!

Easy answer: **all of it.**

Kitchens, bathrooms, laundries, storage, doors, windows, stairs — if you can dream it up, we can build it.

These progress shots are from a couple of **custom bunk beds** currently on the workshop floor. Just another reminder that no two projects are the same, and that variety is what we do best.
