New pavers, new timber retaining, and a tidy edge the whole way through.

What a night! We headed along to the Wellington Lions & Wellington Pride Season Launch and got a very nice surprise — the Distinctive Landscapes logo on the playing shirts. Seeing our name on there is a genuine honour.

Huge thanks to John and Steph at Assess It for welcoming us into the Wellington Rugby community, and an even bigger thank you to Tony, Tanya and Nicole for making it happen.

Bring on the season — go the Lions and the Pride! 🖤💛

This fence used to be a floor.

Australian jarrah that spent decades underfoot, hauled out of a shed, de-nailed by hand and cut into slats by Jamie and Darrel. All that's left is a coat of oil to really bring out that dark red colour.

Timber this good deserved a second life. We just gave it one.

The before shots don't look like much.
Dirt, string lines and edging blocks laid out.
A few stages later a curved lawn with a clean edge running right around it, bark borders and fresh planting wrapping the whole space.

Before and after on this steep Cambrian section.
The bank had slumped and was washing out. We terraced it with timber retaining walls up the slope, added rendered planter walls, laid a new timber deck, and planted it out — lavender, veg beds and colour through the terraces.
A slumping clay bank turned into a proper usable garden.

On Friday afternoon, we had the honour of attending the 29th Cello Champions Charity Luncheon at Tākina, in support of Life Flight.

A room full of rugby legends, a cracking live auction, and a very good feed, all to back one of the most important services this country has. Every dollar raised goes straight to keeping Life Flight's rescue helicopters and air ambulances flying 24/7, ready for Kiwis on their worst day.

In our line of work we spend our days out on sites and in the elements. You never want to need a rescue chopper, but it means everything to know it's there. Proud to have played a small part.

Thanks to Life Flight and the team for a brilliant day. Already keen for the next one.
