Quoting rot work is like fortune telling. Understanding what lies beneath is an impossible task. Every job we do evolves as we understand the issues and identify the extent of the rot. From these few areas I have photographed I want to make it very clear. Maitenance is so important. As is ensure use tradesmen that understand how to repair so the job lasts. These were repairs only completed 2 years ago. From the surface it was not evident the previous repairs were actually accelerating the damage.

Cross section cut off a villa window sill. When you employ a tradesman for a repair you expect it will last. This was 2 years ago. Client feels like money was thrown out as what was done accelerated the rot process. You need it fixed so it lasts another 100years

Back to fix repairs from yesteryear. Some would say you have to remove. But with full lamination craftsmanship and skill we will save these home owners tens of thousands of dollars. In these areas we source like for like products due to both shrinkage and size. Stability extremely important and the cell structure of the old kauri a testament to the longevity. We see here how the rebated structure of the window has caused the water to track into the end grain and start the rotting process. Such a common failure in old doublehung windows.
