Autumn is a good time to fertilize and spread mulch around the gardens especially as we have had such a dry summer this will help keep any moisture in the soil .A good general shrub fertilizer or compost around most plants and some bark mulch can go a long way to producing healthy plants.If you need someone to do this for you contact Woody's gardening services.

When trimming a hedge its best to use a battery powered hedge trimmer or a petrol driven one then you don't have to worry about the cord getting in the way .But if you do use a electric hedge trimmer with a cord always use a RCD plug with it in case you accidentally cut the cord.Also when trimming make the hedge narrower at the top than at the bottom this will allow the light to get to the base of the hedge and so prevent it from dying back.Hedges should be trimmed at least twice per year to prevent them from becoming to big and unmanageable. To get rid of convululus use tough extra strength round up gel and coat every third leaf with it especially the leaves closest to the base of the vine this should kill the roots or get Woodys gardening services to come and do it for you

When you get the flu it pays to take time off work then you get better quicker and don't drain your energy as well as not giving the flu to everyone around you.i have been unwell the last couple of days and even though i work on my own so have no one to cover my work load i still took time to recover. Don't stress people work will be there when you are well again.

The Brocolli plants i was growing from seed magically turned into cabbages. Lesson learned not to mix up your seed packets and to label things correctly. Well looks like i will be having coleslaw in stead of stirfry lol

When removing ivy from a wall cut the stems off at the base of the wall.Then spray it with a glyphosphathate based spray and leave it a few months till it dies then simply pull it off the wall.You can then dig out the roots if you want to completely remove it
