Tiny homes make a lot of sense — affordable, low maintenance, and perfect for a beach bach.

But they still need a solid base.

We recently completed a pad for one out at Pukehina. Sandy soils around here mean you can't cut corners on preparation — get it wrong and you'll see movement later. Get it right and the home sits level and stable for years.

This property had a great garage and shed tucked out the back, but the ground leading to it was uneven and covered in grass, making it almost impossible to use.

We came in and got to work, clearing away the old grass and soil before regrading and levelling the area in front of the garage to create a large, even surface for vehicles.

From there, we cut in a new accessway down the side of the house and laid compacted base material to form a solid, long-lasting driveway. Now the owners can drive straight through to their garage with ease.
