The weather is warming up, and we all know what that means... visitors start rolling in.

Having enough off-street parking makes a big difference, especially when family and friends start turning up for the summer.

Here we were called in to create a practical new parking area, giving the owners plenty of extra space for guests, a boat or caravan, and making life a whole lot easier when there are a few extra vehicles around.

We shaped and prepped this driveway ready for the concrete pour, then came back to finish the landscaping once the concrete was down.

A fresh mulched garden bed, clean edges and a tidy finish around the new driveway made a big difference.

And not a bad view of the Pukehina Estuary to enjoy while we were working, either.

Pampas grass? Get rid of it properly.

It might look harmless, but pampas is an invasive w**d in New Zealand that spreads quickly and can crowd out native plants.

This clump had well and truly made itself at home, so the crew dug it out, roots and all, and cleared everything away.

Getting the roots out is important if you want to prevent it coming back.

Here's a pad we prepped for a tiny home.

Getting the base right matters more than people realise. Compaction, drainage, and levels all need to be sorted before anything gets built on top. If this hasn't been done right you can have all sorts of issues down the track.

This steep, overgrown bank was not the easiest spot to get machinery into.

We cleared the scrub and vegetation back for this client, carefully working the digger down the bank and keeping the fence and neighbouring property clear. The material was loaded straight onto the truck and taken off site.

Working on a slope like this takes a bit of care. Getting the digger into position, working down the bank and keeping everything under control as you go.

Bank cleared, access opened up and the section ready for whatever comes next.

Great garage and shed out back, but you couldn't get near them. The ground in front was rough, uneven, and grown over with grass.

We cleared the site, regraded it, and levelled off a solid area big enough for vehicles to park and turn. Then we cut in a new accessway down the side of the house and laid compacted base to build a driveway that'll handle daily use.

Now the owners drive straight through to the garage, no drama.

Trenches for the foundations cut and ready to go on this build.

Digging in sandy ground can be challenging. It moves easily, which sounds helpful until you're trying to hold a clean, straight trench line. Getting the depth and width right first time keeps the whole build on schedule.

Our mini digger is perfect for this sort of job. It is small enough to work close to the boundary and around the trees, but still has the reach and power to get the trenches cut to spec.

Boxing's in, levels are set, and it's ready for the next stage.
