It’s been a big few months at Archco.

With our Christchurch studio opening in the next few weeks and plenty of exciting projects taking shape, our social media has been a little quieter than usual.

Behind the scenes, though, there’s been a lot happening.

We thought it was about time we started sharing a few of the projects currently on the drawing board and making their way through design and construction.

First up, a selection of some of our newer residential projects currently underway.

We’ll be sharing more of our commercial and industrial work shortly, and taking a closer look at some of these individual projects over the coming weeks.

We're Growing!

As our team and project workload continue to grow, we're excited to be expanding into a new Christchurch studio while retaining our North Canterbury base.

North Canterbury remains an important part of who we are, and we'll continue working with clients throughout Rangiora, Kaiapoi, Ohoka, Pegasus, Woodend and the wider region. Our new Christchurch studio will allow us to better support projects across Canterbury while continuing to provide the same level of service to our existing clients.

With this next step, we're looking to welcome a few new people to the team.

• Graduate Interior Designer
• Graduate Architectural Technician
• Senior Architectural Technician

Ohapuku House, Ohoka.

A contemporary rural home on the family farm, shaped by the simplicity of surrounding farm buildings. Gabled forms, clad in Abodo timber and brick, sit quietly within the landscape.

Deeply recessed glazing, formed by a high-performance wall system, adds depth and thermal efficiency, while a skylight spine draws light through the home. Juliet balconies and generous openings strengthen the connection to the rural setting and outdoor living.

Wai-iti Terrace, Christchurch.

A 1950s red brick home reworked into a modern space while keeping its original character.

Brick remains the hero, reimagined with curves and crafted detailing. The lattice brick entry screen adds privacy while giving the home a strong identity from the street.

At the rear, a cantilevered roof extends over the outdoor area, with new garage and studio spaces supporting the owners’ love of motorsport.

A simple home, completely transformed.
