The first Ruru home was built in what I am diplomatically calling 'the workshop.'
In reality it was built in very limited space with very limited resources by a man who had decided he was going to build a tiny home that he'd actually be proud of, regardless of what the constraints were.
Daniel is like that. He doesn't tell you he's going to do something impressive. He just does it and then looks at it for a while and says 'I think that worked.'
The first home sold in four days. The buyers had been looking for something exactly like it and couldn't believe it existed.
That sale β and the twelve contracts that came in the next ten weeks β told us something important: people weren't just buying a product. They were buying into a standard. A small, well-built, honestly priced home that treated them like adults.
The market had wanted that for years. It was just waiting for someone to build it.
Five years later the workshop is significantly more established, the team is bigger, and we are doing it in Queensland too. But the standard is exactly the same as it was for that first home.
That's the part I'm most proud of. Not the growth. The consistency.
Every single home. The same standard. No exceptions. π
