One of our Trenchless crews are well into it at the Te Rāhui Solar Farm near Taupō for our friends at All Energy Australia.

Matt and his team have got the Vermeer D40x55 doing what it does best — punching HDD shots beneath culturally protected wetland areas and getting kilometres of duct underground with minimal disturbance to the land above.

With PolyWeld Nz Ltd keeping the duct strings rolling and the trenchless boys keeping the drill turning, there’s plenty happening out here.

We’ll be on the ground through until late September, so still a fair bit of drilling ahead of us.

Pretty bloody cool project, awesome part of the country and exactly the sort of work our Trenchless team loves getting stuck into. 👊

A great mid-winter social event for the UINZ Group tonight with our annual tenpin Full Montys at Full Monty’s. 🎳

It’s been a while between social events, but in an industry as challenging as ours, it’s important to take a step back, enjoy a laugh, and recognise the hard work our team puts in every day. The people around you are what make a business great.

With the inaugural competition kicking off back in 2018, tonight saw our first-ever tie, with two of our managers sharing the UINZ Bowling Trophy.

Two well-earned certificates for the UINZ workshop crew 🔧

Big congratulations to Calum McMillan and James Ryder, who’ve both completed their New Zealand Certificate in Heavy Automotive Engineering – Plant and Equipment (Level 4).

Calum came on board as an apprentice back in 2022 and has grown into a genuine asset. James joined us late 2024 and hit the ground running. Between them they keep our workshop humming and make sure our crews have the gear and machines ready to go, day in, day out.

The trucks don’t move and the drills don’t turn without these two behind the scenes. Proud to have them on the team.

Today we’re proud to unveil our new Civil Trade Wall in our training room, recognising the hard work, commitment, and dedication of our team members who have achieved their Civil Trades accreditation through Civil Contractors New Zealand.

In an industry that demands continuous learning and adaptability, it’s fantastic to see our people investing in themselves, building new skills, and progressing their careers. Their success is the foundation of our success.

One of our Trenchless teams has successfully completed a tricky drill shot through the wetlands in Lincoln, nice to have a cool project so close to our HQ.

A water trunk main to link the new development of Lincoln including all shut downs and connections
