🌳 A Big Reduction on This Large Liquidambar!

This large tree received a major prune to reduce its wind sail area, allowing wind to pass through the canopy more easily and helping reduce the risk of large branches breaking out during strong winds.

A big job that makes a real difference, while keeping the tree looking great and maintaining its natural shape. 💪🌿

Another job completed by the team at Complete Tree Care LTD.

🌳 MASSIVE LIQUIDAMBAR PRUNE 🌳

This was one serious tree — and a seriously challenging job.

The CTC crew spent two full days pruning this huge Liquidambar tree that was growing over a garage, house and delicate gardens , it also had power lines plus a road nearby all adding to the challenge.

Getting the massive amount of foliage down to the ground safely, without damaging anything or snapping the outer foliage and compromising the tree’s natural shape, took a lot of precision 🎯. The right cuts and abit of kaha to throw the pieces out were definitely needed.

A huge job from start to finish, but the end result speaks for itself. 💪🌳

Two full days. One massive Liquid Amber. Safely brought back under control. 👌

🌲 Spruce takedown!

This big spruce was getting a little too close to the power lines, so we got the Close Approach Permit from Unison and got stuck into it. 💪

Everything came down safely — except the very last cut 🥴. The tree had swallowed some metal near the base quite some time ago and absolutely mugged my freshly sharpened chain. 😭.

So that's why there's a firewood-sized stump left behind… 🤦‍♂️

I spent my Sunday pollarding this Oak tree✂️🌳. Usually I don't work Sunday's but it could only be done on a weekend as it was at a chiropractic clinic, which has customers throughout the week (chipper and chainsaw noises will make for unhappy customers) !!

And yes... it looks ugly now, but give it some time and she’ll be back with a fresh head of growth.

Trust the process 🤌.

You can't appreciate how much I took off of this Totara unfortunately 👎 !! But I gave it a major reduction ... I recommended sticking to 30%, but what the customer wants, is what they get 🤷‍♂️. Fingers crossed it responds well and doesn’t develop decay around the larger pruning cuts 🤞 !

Dropping this massive, dead gum tree... The weight was heading in the opposite direction and it had a house in the falling line, so there was a lot on the line with this fall. Managed to squeeze it in the gap with the good old 3 tonne winch helping out. Happy days 🤟🫡 !! The stem was also so big, I had to bore out the middle wood through the front face to ensure I could reach through from both sides on the back cut 🪾😳.
