Kaipara Refuse Kaipara Refuse Ltd is the official Kaipara District Council Refuse Contractor

👉 As the official kerbside refuse contractor for the Kaipara District, our team collects household refuse and recycling from households and businesses several days a week, and process and sort these at our site in Porritt Street, Ruawai.

👉 We also run a resource and recovery centre at our Dargaville site which is open 5 days a week, and aims to rescue usable items from landfill.

👉 We employ app

roximately 45 staff of which around half live at the Kaurilands Skills Centre Trust, which is a residential facility for intellectually disabled adults. Some of these Kaurilands residents are employed as rubbish collectors and others are employed to sort the recycling that comes back into our Ruawai premises.

👉 Ours is a user-pays system: Kaipara residents purchase their rubbish and recycling bags from outlets throughout the district, and the cost covers both collection and processing. Blue bags for landfill refuse, Yellow bags for recycling.
