Just in case you haven't noticed, we love nature, from the earth to the ocean. When we (Elise and Bruce) aren't landscaping, we're either on or in the big blue.

That's why we've decided to sponsor and support Jono on his swimming of NZ - 99km to be exact on his Swim4the Ocean to raise funds and awareness to stop bottom trawling. Please sign the petition against bottom trawling.
It's a devastating way fishing in so many aspects. We really need to take better care of our oceans and ensure we don't pilage the little fish stocks we still have. Although we can't see the damage or the impact easily, it's eroding our way of life and affecting our future more than we realise!

Yesterday evening, we enjoyed an after dinner walk that turned into foraging fiesta!

We came across fresh blackberries , kōwhai seeds, and little edible totara berries.

Although it's not the summer we dreamed of, there's still a bit of magic in nature!

(Always do your research before eating berries that are foraged.)

Look out for some Kōwhai seedlings coming soon ;)

We are so happy with the outcome of this concept.
To mitigate the poor clay soil and drainage issues, we utilised and made a river pebble channel shaping it as if it were a river itself. Much better than its prior swampy conditions.
Still awaiting a water feature and to bring some water-logged Michelia's back to life for the full completion.

While it's been horrible outside, our team have been building inside. The diverse nature of the experience of our main man Bruce means we can tackle even the most complex building jobs. Here's a review from our amazing client Ian who needed better access to his multi-storied home.

Here is what Ian had to say:
"We recently engaged Bruce to carry out an under-house excavation and construction of a lift well in our home at Browns Bay. The project threw up some interesting and demanding challenges which he handled well.
Bruce is a certified drain layer and builder. He managed everything efficiently and with complete professional skill and quality workmanship in both the structural work and the internal renovations.
He was friendly and helpful throughout, coming up with useful suggestions as the work progressed. Each week he gave us a summary of the work to be carried out and kept us fully informed of progress or issues.
All the sub trades were organised by Bruce which meant the whole project ran very smoothly. His apprentice Shon was also a friendly hard working companion to Bruce so they made a good team.

We are very satisfied with the work Bruce has done for us and highly recommend him to anybody else looking for an experienced knowledgeable builder. "
