We've got something worth celebrating! 💛

While we didn't take out the win last night, we are still celebrating being a finalist in the 2026 Best Places to Work™ Awards, for the second year running!

Being recognised among New Zealand's best workplaces is a fantastic achievement, and we couldn't be prouder of our team.

Across our branches, we have people who look out for each other, take pride in their work, and genuinely care about what they do. It's this culture that carries through to the way we look after our customers, with integrity, care, and a commitment to doing things right.

To everyone at Freeman Roofing - you make this such a great place to work.

Congratulations to all the finalists and winners at this year's Best Places to Work™ Awards. It's wonderful to see so many New Zealand businesses putting their people first.

A behind-the-scenes look at how it all begins!

We recently took some of our customers on a tour of the NZ Steel mill, giving them the opportunity to see how New Zealand steel is made and learn more about the steel that goes into our Freeman Roofing products.

A great experience and a chance to see the process from steelmaking through to the products we manufacture and supply every day.

Thanks to NZ Steel for hosting us!

We’re pleased to welcome Sam Luckman as Branch Manager of our Blenheim branch.

Sam brings 12 years’ experience in the transport and heavy equipment industry and is a dual-qualified heavy diesel mechanic. After starting out as an apprentice, he worked his way into operational and people leadership roles, developing a real interest in helping teams grow and continually improving how things are done.

Originally from the Waikato, Sam has called Blenheim home for the past six years and knows the region well.

Outside of work, he enjoys watching rugby, spending time with family, exploring Marlborough and tackling DIY projects around the house.

Come into the Blenheim branch and say hi.

Welcome to Freeman Roofing, Sam.

Being named a Best Places to Work™ finalist is something we’re proud of and something we want to build on.

Feedback from our people helps us understand what’s working well and where we can continue to evolve, strengthen the way we work together and make Freeman an even better place to work.

That same mindset extends to how we support our customers.

With strong local teams backed by a wider national network, modern manufacturing capability and nearly 70 years of experience, we’re always looking for smarter and better ways to deliver for our people, our customers and the communities we’re part of.

Because for us, being a great place to work and a great company to work with, is something we keep working at.

When people feel supported, trusted and valued, they’re better placed to do a great job for customers.

Our latest employee survey highlighted approachable leadership, strong relationships and a workplace built on respect and support.

That same mindset shapes how we work with our customers too - practical support, reliable service and people who care about getting the job done well.

It’s part of what being a Best Places to Work™ finalist for the second year running reflects for us.

Outside of work, Patariki is a lifelong car enthusiast, with more than 200 builds and restorations under his belt – mostly Holdens.

If you’re in the area, pop into the Tauranga branch and say hi.

Welcome to Freeman Roofing, Patariki.

Good customer service starts with good teams.

One of the strongest themes in our Best Places to Work™ employee survey was the connection between our people - working together, supporting each other and pitching in when needed.

Teamwork matters inside our branches, and it also carries through to the experience we give our customers every day.

Local people, local knowledge, and a team behind you when you need it.

We’ve got you.
