Our client had multiple homes and workshops spread across the farm, each on its own power meter. By consolidating everything onto a single meter, the gave us the platform to design and install one solar and battery system that now offsets the power for the entire property — homes, workshops, the lot.
This kind of centralisation is a game-changer on farms. Instead of multiple smaller systems (and multiple sets of costs), you get one properly sized solution that works harder and delivers better overall savings. It’s cleaner, more efficient, and far more cost-effective in the long run.
The heart of the system is a robust Sigenergy battery setup. It’s built for the demands of rural life and has been designed with future expansion in mind — more battery modules can be added later as needs grow, without having to replace the existing system.
If you’re running a farm with multiple buildings or meters and want to look at consolidating and going solar the smart way, feel free to get in touch. Happy to come out and take a look.

Dairy sheds, workshops, pumps, and houses — rural power use often lines up well with daytime solar generation.
Many Taranaki farms are seeing solid savings and more predictable costs by putting panels on the shed or house roof. We design around how the property actually uses power (not a generic template).
If you’ve got a high daytime load, solar is usually one of the cleaner investments you can make on the farm.
Happy to look at your numbers — free assessment available. Just message us or drop a recent power bill.

Still watching your power bill climb every month?
Whether you’re running a farm, managing a rural property, operating a small business, or just looking after the family home — electricity costs are hitting harder than ever.
A lot of people we speak to feel stuck. They know solar could help, but they’re not sure where to start, what’s actually worth doing, or whether it will work properly for their setup.
That’s where we come in.
We design and install solar and battery systems that actually suit the way people live and work in Taranaki — from straightforward home systems to more complex rural and commercial setups. Our focus is simple: reduce your power bills, give you more control, and build something reliable that lasts.
We use quality gear and take the time to get the design right the first time. No cookie-cutter quotes. We actually visit your site.
If you’ve been thinking about solar, or you’re just curious what the numbers could look like on your place, we’re happy to have a no-obligation chat.
Interested?

Myth Buster: “Solar doesn’t work in NZ weather”
Myth: “Solar only works on perfect sunny days / doesn’t work in winter / NZ isn’t sunny enough.”

Reality:
Panels generate from daylight, not just direct sun. On overcast days they still produce a solid portion of their capacity. Winter output is lower but still useful — and the annual total is what matters for the financial return.
Taranaki regularly ranks among New Zealand’s sunniest regions. We’ve installed systems that perform well right across the region, from coastal New Plymouth to inland farms.
The technology is mature, the numbers stack up, and the sun is free.

Myth Buster: “It’s too expensive / never pays back”

Myth: “Solar is too expensive and never pays for itself.”

Reality:
Upfront cost is real, but so are the savings. With current power prices, most systems in Taranaki pay for themselves in roughly 7–10 years and then keep generating for another 15+ years of essentially free electricity.
Finance options are available if cash isn’t ideal right now. Once the system is paid off, you’re protected against rising grid prices for decades.
It’s not magic — it’s maths based on your actual usage and roof. We run the numbers properly so you can decide with clear information.

Myth Buster: “You must have a battery”

Myth: “Solar is only worthwhile if you also buy a battery.”

Reality:
Most solar systems in New Zealand still run without a battery and deliver strong savings. A battery is excellent for backup power and higher self-consumption, but it is optional.
Many homes and farms get excellent results with a well-sized grid-tied system alone. We design around how you actually use power — not a one-size-fits-all package.
Battery or no battery, the goal is the same: lower bills and more control over your energy costs.

🌞 Another special Taranaki project in the books!

We’ve just finished installing a solar system on the old Riverlea Primary School — now a family home — right opposite the historic Kaponga Co-operative Dairy Company Riverlea Branch factory.
A bit of local history for those who love these stories:

🏫 Riverlea School opened its doors on 1 February 1899 with just 22 pupils. By the end of 1900 the roll had already climbed to 67. The original schoolhouse was the heart of the community until a hall was built. A new three-room school opened in 1965, the school celebrated its centennial in 1999, and it finally closed at the end of 2003. Today this piece of Riverlea history is a private home — and now it’s generating clean electricity.

🏭 Across the road sat the Kaponga Co-op Dairy Company’s Riverlea Branch. Cheese-making began here in mid-1907 (one of the early dual butter/cheese sites in the district). A well-known 1939 photo shows the factory with Mt Taranaki in the background, horses and carts, and a truck at the unloading bay — a classic South Taranaki dairy scene from the era when local co-ops were the backbone of the industry.

It’s pretty cool to be able to put modern solar on a building that has stood in this landscape for well over a century, looking across at the site of one of the district’s old dairy factories.
Huge thanks to the owners for trusting us with the job. Another rural Taranaki home now making its own power.

If you’ve got an older building (or a newer one!) and you’re thinking about solar, give us a shout. We’re local, SEANZ accredited, and we love projects with a bit of history attached.

☀️ Lepperton Solar Assault – Part Three ☀️
We’re still rolling through Lepperton!
This time we’re teaming up with Ember Heating – the business you want for anything fire-related. These guys truly know their stuff. Now they’ve made the smart move into sustainable energy with a quality solar & battery system from Streamline Solar.
Surrounded by a beautiful Christmas tree plantation, the views from the roof are just incredible. Drone was grounded again thanks to flight restrictions, but the install still looks fantastic in this peaceful rural setting.
Massive thanks to the Ember Heating team for choosing us to help power your next chapter. Love seeing local legends going solar!
Part 4 coming soon… this Lepperton run has been epic 🔥
