As we wrap up this 10-part Project Spotlight series, we'd like to thank everyone who has followed the journey of this Claudelands renovation.

Looking back over the past few weeks has been a great reminder of just how much planning, teamwork and craftsmanship goes into transforming a home. From the first day of excavation, through foundations, framing, structural steel, roofing, linings and finally the finished product, every stage played an important role in delivering a home that our clients could be proud of.

Although this project was completed over a year ago, it remains one of our favourite renovations because it demonstrates what can be achieved with a clear vision, quality workmanship and a great team working together.

A huge thank you to our wonderful clients for placing their trust in PDS Builders, and to all of the subcontractors and suppliers who helped bring this project to life. We couldn't achieve results like this without the support of talented tradespeople who take pride in their work.

The moment we've all been waiting for... the transformation starts to reveal itself.

Looking back at this Claudelands renovation, it's incredible to see just how far the project came. What began as an older home has been completely reimagined into a bright, modern family space that's both practical and timeless.

From the spacious open-plan living area to the custom joinery, modern kitchen, beautifully designed laundry and carefully selected finishes, every detail was chosen to create a home that our clients could enjoy for many years to come.

One of the biggest transformations on this project happened once the home was weather-tight and the interior fit-out began.

With the insulation installed, electrical and plumbing completed, and the GIB linings in place, the vision really started to come to life. Spaces that had been open framing only weeks before were now becoming warm, functional rooms ready for stopping, painting and cabinetry.

This stage is where all the planning starts to pay off. Every decision made earlier in the build—from room layout to window placement and service locations—comes together to create a home that's practical, comfortable and built to last.

It's often the finished kitchen or bathroom that catches everyone's eye, but it's the workmanship behind the walls and the attention to detail during these stages that make the biggest difference in the long term.

At this stage the project was becoming weather-tight, marking another major milestone in the build.

With the roof structure, cladding and joinery progressing, the home was finally being protected from the elements and interior work could move ahead at full speed.

This is often the point where homeowners become really excited because the transformation is becoming easier to visualise.

While the finished result gets the attention, there are countless stages like this that play an important role in creating a quality home.

Looking back, it's amazing to see how far the project had come by this point.

One of our favorite design features of this project was the use of high-level glazing to maximize natural light.

These windows were carefully positioned to bring sunlight deep into the living spaces while maintaining privacy and creating a sense of openness.

It's often the small architectural details that make the biggest difference to how a home feels once it's complete.

Looking back at these photos, it's easy to see how much planning and craftsmanship goes into creating spaces that feel effortless when finished.

One of the biggest milestones on this renovation was the installation of the structural steel.

The steel beams allowed us to create the large open-plan living spaces that would later become one of the standout features of the completed home.

While most people focus on the finished kitchen or living room, it's these structural elements working behind the scenes that make those spaces possible.

Looking back, this was one of the most exciting days on site and a major step forward in bringing the design to life.

This is where the project really started to come to life.

With the foundations complete, the framing stage allows everyone to see the vision taking shape. Rooms become recognisable, spaces begin to flow together, and the scale of the transformation becomes clear.

One of the most rewarding moments on any project is watching homeowners walk through the framing for the first time and start imagining life in their future home.

This addition was designed to create more space, improve functionality, and better connect the home to modern family living.

One of the standout features of this project was the installation of underfloor heating throughout the new living areas.

While it's hidden beneath the finished floor, it's something the homeowners enjoy every day.

Underfloor heating provides even warmth, improved comfort, and a clean heating solution without wall-mounted units taking up valuable space.

It's one of those features many homeowners don't initially consider, but absolutely love once they're living in the home.
