Essential Underground Services has now been operating for 2 years!

589 jobs we have completed in our short time operating and we couldn’t be more proud of what we have achieved. There has most definitely been multiple obstacles and hurdles along our journey but nothing good ever comes easy!

A big thank you to those surrounding us for all your support and especially to our fantastic workers out there doing the hard yards. It definitely doesn’t go unnoticed.

SHORT TERM CONTRACT AVAILABLE - LABOURER

Essential Underground Services are searching for 2 candidates to work a short term contract until the end of 2024.

You will be working in a small team laying fibre cable from point A to point B. You will be thrusting, ploughing, digging and locating services. If you have experience in the underground industry or similar, then we would love to hear from you!

We are Matamata locals but our work is located in the BOP region with our yard being in Tauriko.

Company Overview:
Join a small dynamic team at Essential Underground Services Limited, a leading provider of civil services in Tauranga. With a commitment to excellence and safety, we specialize in fiber, water, and power installation, as well as a variety of other civil projects. We are seeking a skilled Civil Labourer to join our team and contribute to our ongoing success.

Position Overview:
As a Civil Labourer, you will be responsible for assisting in various civil construction projects, including fiber, water, and power installation. Your duties will also involve miscellaneous tasks such as concrete cutting and property reinstatement. We are looking for a hardworking individual who is familiar with using equipment such as a thrusters, mole ploughs, spades, and other construction tools. Work days are Monday to Friday with the odd Saturday every blue moon. 6.30am start.

Responsibilities:
• Assist in the installation of fiber, water, and power infrastructure.
• Perform concrete cutting and property reinstatement tasks as needed.
• Operate equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Work collaboratively with the team to complete projects on time and within budget.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of worksite.

Requirements:
• Previous experience in civil construction or a related field preferred.
• Knowledge of fiber, water, and power installation processes is an asset.
• Familiarity with using civil tools such as thrusters, spades, mole ploughs and concrete cutting equipment.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• First Aid certification is advantageous.

Happy 1st Birthday to us!

243 completed projects, 4 staff members and a whole lot of good hard work from our incredible team.

Our first year has taught us a lot and we have seen an incredible amount of growth exceeding our own original forecasts and goals.
