Tauranga South Garden Club

Tauranga South Garden Club Established in February 1950, we are a small friendly club still following many of the early traditions with a modern day approach to gardening.

Visitors are welcome. You don't need to have a large garden, or even your own to enjoy the club's monthly meetings. Our members are happy to pass on their knowledge. Come along and pick up tips on how to grow your own vegetables or make your property more attractive. Meetings are held the first Wednesday of the month,

10 am, Gorden Carmicheal Reserve,meet up at the playground carpark, coffee after at Palmers Bethlehem
Outing this month Wednesday the 26th November.
We will meet at 10.00 am
This is a visit to the Nursery of Rob Sommerfields Roses.
34 Teihana Road Te Puna.This is a chance to learn about the process from choosing the parent plants, to growing the seeds then selecting the award winning roses that Rob manages to produce. And they are all grown in Te Puna. This is a working nursery so you need to wear appropiate footware especially if it has been raining.

All usual exhibits competitions and sales table. There will be a door raffle so bring some change.This is our spring plant swap meeting. Please bring one plant from your garden to go onto the swap table
Walk this month 8th October 10 am Gate Pa Historic Reserve We will meet at the Church street enterance ,Then aftter looking at the park church etc we will have a coffee in the Mitre 10 cafe and enjoy a visit to the garden center there.
Outing this month Wednesday the 29th of October
This is a repeat trip. One we had to cancel earlier in the year.
The Katikati Mural tour. We will meet at 9.30 At Bethlehem Road to drive in convoy to KatiKati. The Tour starts at 10.30 for those that are from whakamarama and wish to meet us there. we will gather at the museum in the center of town.We will be taken in groups from there and be given a guided tour of the murals in town and a little of the history behind each one. The cost of the tour is $10.00 I would like to collect this before the trip.
Then we are booked into the Katikati golf course for lunch this is cabinet food or off the menu depends on your requirements. After lunch we will visit the Reptile Park ,This will take about an hour depending on your interest. It is not just reptiles but also birds and gardens. A Gold coin entry to be paid on the day. Then home, if we have time and now we are aware of where the godwit reserve is, we can take a small deter and visit it again.

Walk this month September 10th 202565 Te Hono Street, We are going to Rotary Park, I have no idea, what is there but if the tides are right it might be a beach walk. Just one of those adventures that we have on a wednesday. Coffee afterwards at the Whipped baker 291 Maungatapu Road

The godwits return this month. we
will meet Bethlehem Road across from the school and drive in convoy to Margaret Drive Omokoroa the viewing platform is Cooney Reserve Margaret Place, at about 11 Margaret Drive. Meet Margaret (me), after visiting to have a coffee at the Coffee Club in the shopping centre Omokoroa and then a meandering drive back to Tauranga taking in Buyers Direct.
