The most exciting part is here! Planting your plants- pot to plot🌱

Good planting requires a little more than digging a hole and putting the plant in:

Here's how to do it:
1. Give your plants a good drink.
A good dousing of water before planting will keep the roots nice and hydrated

2. Dig the right-sized hole.
Use a shovel or post hole borer at the points you’d like to plant into. Your hole should be wide enough to comfortably accommodate the root ball, with the plant sitting at about the same depth as it was in the pot.

3. Remove the pot carefully
Gently squeeze or tap the sides of the pot and slide the plant out. Don't pull the plant out by the stem. Loosen roots at the base of the pot if required.

4. Check the roots
If the roots are circling tightly around the outside of the root ball, gently loosen them before planting. This encourages them to grow out into the surrounding soil.

5. Add fertiliser
If you are using fertiliser you can place this in the hole just before you place your plant

6. Position your plant
Place it in the hole and check your planting line and spacing before filling it back in.

7. Backfill & firm
Fill around the root ball with the soil you've removed, gently firming it as you go. Avoid burying the stem or planting deeper than it was in the pot.

8. Water thoroughly
Give it a really good drink once planted. This helps settle the soil around the roots and removes large air pockets.

9. Mulch
A layer of mulch around the plant can help retain moisture and suppress competing weeds — just keep it away from the stem.

Plant it well from day one, and you’ll give your hedge the best possible start.

How’s this for a transformation!

Without a lot of cost, but what a difference and added value to your property.

And then…the starting of another project for a lovely customer and added space for her dogs to roam and still be contained.
