⚡ **Switchboard Upgrade – Tamahere** ⚡

Another switchboard upgrade completed in Tamahere this week.

The existing switchboard was absolutely chock-a-block, with no room left for the customer’s planned future upgrades — including solar, new kitchen circuits, and a large 32A submain for a new workshop.

We replaced it with a much larger new switchboard and upgraded the power and lighting circuits to individual RCBO protection.

The result is a much safer and tidier installation, with plenty of spare capacity for the upcoming additions and any future electrical upgrades. 👌⚡

Another EV charger installed and ready to go today for our customer at Tamahere Eventide Village.

This installation included a **Tesla Gen 3 Wall Connector**, providing up to 7.4kW charging on single phase and compatible with Tesla and other Type 2 EVs.

Before installing an EV charger, we carry out a load assessment of the property’s electrical supply to make sure the additional charging load can be safely supported.

After pulling this hot water cylinder apart, I found the original warranty card still tucked inside. It's a bit hard to read, but it looks like it's dates from either 1964 or 1969.

Either way... I'd say this cylinder has done a pretty good innings! 💪

After a bit of an upgrade with a new thermostat, new heating element, and new hot water switch, it's now heating strong again and ready for a few more years of service.

They certainly built them to last back then!

Another happy customer! 👌

This week we replaced an 18-year-old Mitsubishi Electric heat pump that had finally reached the end of its life after many years of reliable service.

The old unit was replaced with a new **7.1kW Mitsubishi Heavy Industries** heat pump, providing improved heating performance, quieter operation, greater energy efficiency, and the latest inverter technology.

With the recent run of frosty mornings, our customer was especially pleased to have reliable heating back in time and won't have to battle through another **-2°C Waikato morning** without it! ❄️➡️🔥

Not all electrical work is wires and switches 👨‍💻⚡

Another job finished up this week and handed over to customer.

Recently programmed some custom control logic for a customer using a Zelio Smart Relay.

Basically, we create the logic in software, upload it into the relay, and once installed onsite it controls equipment automatically based on the programmed sequence.

This can be used for pumps, timers, process control, equipment interlocking and automation.

This particular project involved starting a series of conveyors in a specific order using preset time delays. The challenge was that under different fault conditions, the shutdown sequence had to operate in a completely different order with different timing delays depending on the fault.
