Handyman/Trade Assistant Wanted

We are looking for a reliable and motivated Handyman/Trade Assistant to join our team at Corfield Refrigeration and Electrical. This role is ideal for someone with basic electrical and refrigeration knowledge, strong tool skills, and a great attitude.

About the Role:
You will assist qualified tradespeople with a variety of tasks including installation, maintenance, and general trade support. The role involves working with electrical and refrigeration systems, handling tools and equipment, and helping keep projects running smoothly.

Key Requirements:
• Basic knowledge of how electrical and refrigeration systems operate.
• Familiar with hand tools and power tools
• Some knowledge of sound engineering skills including welding and brazing would be advantageous.
• Eager to learn and develop new skills
• Reliable and punctual and willing to work extended hours
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Good problem-solving attitude
• Physically fit and able to handle hands-on work
• Able to work at heights is a desirable attribute.

Corfield Refrigeration and Electrical ltd is currently recruiting for a suitably qualified electrician to join their team in servicing the greater Bay of Plenty region. This well-established company specialises in the installation, servicing and maintenance of on farm Dairy Farm milk vat installations and maintenance, Kiwifruit Coolstore systems and orchard irrigation/frost protection systems as well as remote site monitoring and maintenance and automated control.

An understanding of Refrigeration would be desirable but not necessary as onsite training will be provided.

The work role is varied and involves working both as part of a team and unsupervised.

Our preference is a qualified Electrician to join our team but consideration can be given to those with suitable experience who are willing to work towards completion of their trade Certification.


We are looking for an applicant with good communication skills, self-motivated and highly safety conscious for this position. Remuneration will be based on experience.
Applicant must be prepared to be included in a company after hours call out roster along with other staff.

Seems we're been doing a lot more than just servicing our communities refrigeration and electrical needs here at R. Corfield.

Our staff entered the JA Russell Reel Oarsome fishing competion the other weekend, not the prize winning competition fish but an enjoyable day out on the water which is always good.

We are currently recruiting for a Refrigeration Engineer to join our team in servicing the greater Bay of Plenty region.
We are a well-established company that specializes in the installation, servicing and maintenance of Kiwifruit Cool store systems and Dairy Farm vats.

We would prefer a qualified Refrigeration Engineer but would consider a candidate with suitable experience who is willing to work towards completion of their trade certificate.
Applicant must be prepared to be included in an after-hours callout roster
Remuneration will be based on experience

The main responsibilities for this position will be
- Maintenance of Kiwifruit Cool stores
- Dairy Vat installation and servicing
- Air conditioning installations for domestic and commercial use
- Works well unsupervised and as part of a team
- Good communication Skills
- Self-motivated
- High safety conscious
