Our Waikato Apprentice of the Year Matt Strawbridge competed at the National competition in Auckland last week. The two-day event saw all nine regional winners competing for the National title. Although Matt didn't place, he was amongst the best and this is testament to his skills and knowledge, as well as the strength of our programme and support of his Fosters mentors. Well done, Matt, we are extremely proud of you! 🎉

Matt notes what winning the Waikato comp and taking part in Nationals has meant to him: "I'm proud to hold this title, because it recognises the hard work I’ve put in to learning and developing as a carpenter. Taking part in both competitions has been really valuable. I now know my strengths and areas for improvement, and the experience has challenged me to communicate with different people and to work under time pressure. The connections I’ve made are ones I’ll carry throughout my career.

"Fosters encouraged me to give it a go and have supported me through every stage, which means a lot to me."

Fosters vs Feisst Group - Round 3! ⚽

Cold, rain and wind weren't enough to keep the supporters away from Galloway Park on Monday night, as the third annual showdown delivered plenty of banter, laughs and a hard-fought game.

Feisst came away with a 4–2 win, keeping the trophy (and bragging rights) for another year. 🫣

From our Captain Zac Moeke: “Proud of our team's efforts, not willing to back down right to the final whistle.”

The trophy might be staying with Feisst for now... but we're already planning the comeback. 🏆

Thanks to Claudelands Rovers Sports Club for hosting us again.

Congratulations Roque Alfanta, our latest Nailed It Award winner! 🔨✨

Awarded by the Fosters People & Culture Group, the monthly 'Nailed It' Award is given to someone who has clearly demonstrated one, or all, of our Make It Principles. All nominations are made by Fosters staff!

From the nomination: "Not only is he a prized workhorse, Roque embodies Fosters 'make it' principals." He demonstrated our 'make it happen' and 'make it a success' principles through his passion, efficiency and dedication towards our project deadlines. Well done Roque! 🙌

We are immensely proud to celebrate Matt Strawbridge - Waikato Master Builders
CARTERS Apprentice of the Year 2026! 🏆🛠

The judges praised his technical knowledge, professionalism, excellent time management, and strong focus on health and safety, describing him as a "standout apprentice and a highly deserving regional winner."

Friday arvo well spent! 🎳

Our annual Tenpin Bowling competition didn't disappoint, with plenty of laughs, a few trick shots, and a surprising number of strikes.

Already looking forward to next year! 🤩

18 teams, one trophy, and plenty of banter. 🏓

The inaugural Fosters Pickleball Tournament had it all... colourful team names, questionable warm-ups, competitive rallies, and a few sore muscles the next day! 😅

Congratulations to Pickled & Fried (Mike Downs and Ben Royfee), our first-ever champions, and to Un-named (Warren Luxton and Ryan Palmer), who won the Plate. 🏆

Thanks to Padel Park Hamilton for hosting, our P&C team for organising a fantastic day, Jordan and Chloe for the BBQ, Foster Engineering for crafting the trophy, and everyone who came along to play or support.

Game on for 2027! 💪

It's the people behind the projects who make us successful!

We took advantage of Friday's winter sunshine to celebrate with the teams behind our SIX NZ Commercial Project Awards wins 🏆✨

They each received a bottle of bubbles and a certificate - a small thank you from Fosters.

While we're proud of the awards, we're even prouder of the people behind them. Well done, everyone! 🥂
