Another major renovation taking shape.

This home was originally designed by Ruston Architects, and it’s now come full circle, with Ruston Architects once again behind the design — this time for an extensive renovation of the original home.

We’re looking forward to seeing this exciting transformation take shape and will share updates as the project progresses.

We’ll be sharing updates as this project progresses, so stay tuned.

🏡 Another exciting project is underway at Lake Tekapo!
We’re thrilled to see work getting underway on what is an exceptional site, with uninterrupted views across Lake Tekapo and towards the Southern Alps. Opportunities to build in a position offering an outlook like this are becoming increasingly rare.
As you can see from the photos, the site presents its challenges, but Ethan and the team at High Country Earthworks have everything well under control as they begin preparing the site for construction.
We’re proud to be bringing another architecturally designed, two-storey Wilson Building Timaru home to life. Carefully positioned on the site, the home has been designed to make the most of its elevated position, with expansive views that will be enjoyed from throughout the property.
We’re looking forward to sharing the progress of this project as it takes shape and watching this incredible home come to life against the backdrop of Lake Tekapo and the mountains.
Stay tuned for further updates! 👀🏔️

International recognition, followed by national attention

On 7 August, one of our homes was featured on the front page of The Wall Street Journal's Real Estate section as "House of the Week: Built Off-Site and Hauled to Remote New Zealand."

Then, on 14 August, the home was featured by Stuff, with the headline: "Remote Lake Tekapo property amid the tussock has caught the eye of US media."

This remarkable Lake Tekapo home is another acclaimed architectural design by Nott Architects, recipients of an NZIA Canterbury Architecture Award, and expertly built by Wilson Building Timaru. It is a testament to what's possible with innovative off-site construction, exceptional craftsmanship, and clients with exceptional vision to create something truly unique in one of New Zealand's most spectacular landscapes.

We're incredibly proud to have been part of this journey and to see New Zealand design and construction recognised both internationally and here at home.

🏆 We're incredibly proud to have been awarded a Gold Award and named the Renovation Category Winner once again at the Master Builders House of the Year Awards.

This award is a reflection of our team's dedication, craftsmanship, attention to detail, and commitment to delivering quality homes.

What began as a modest red brick home has been transformed into a stunning, light-filled family home, now more than double its original size. Seeing our clients' vision come to life has been an incredibly rewarding journey.

A special thank you to our clients for choosing Wilson Building Timaru to bring their vision to life. It has been a privilege to be part of creating a home that their family will enjoy for many years to come.

We'd also like to recognise our foreman, Josh, whose leadership, organisation and commitment on site ensured the project ran smoothly from start to finish.

Finally, thank you to all the subcontractors and suppliers who contributed to this build. These achievements are only possible through the skill, dedication and teamwork of everyone involved. We truly appreciate the part each of you played in bringing this award-winning project to life. 🤝 🏡 👏

From workshop floor to finished masterpiece! 🏡✨
A little while ago, we shared photos of the huge trusses our team built during some rainy days in the yard. Today, we're excited to show you the completed large alteration project they became part of.
It's always rewarding to see the journey from raw materials to a beautiful, finished home, and this architecturally designed build is no exception. The craftsmanship, teamwork, and attention to detail that went into completing this project can now be seen in a home that we're incredibly proud of.
A fantastic result for our clients and another project completed by the Wilson Building Team. 👏🔨
