WE'RE HIRING | QUANTITY SURVEYOR

Good with numbers? Great with people? Know your way around a building site?

We're looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team in Greytown, Wairarapa.

Already a QS? Great. A builder, tradie or former business owner looking for a new direction? We'd love to hear from you too.

We're more interested in finding the right person than ticking every box on a CV.

You'll work with a solid team, get involved in some great projects and have the opportunity to learn and grow with us.

Sound like you? Let's talk.

Residential project | Work in progress

A great Wairarapa lifestyle property, with a few plans to make it even better.

Our clients bought the home while living overseas and wanted to make more of the Tararua views, improve the indoor-outdoor flow and add a guest wing that feels like it’s always been part of the original home.

They chose Holmes Construction for a full-service approach, clear costs and a job done right, without surprises.

The crew has been on site rain or shine, and the feedback so far has been great. The clients are happy with the progress and the team putting in the work.

We’ll share more as this one takes shape.

In the meantime, check out our residential portfolio: https://www.holmes.co.nz/residential/

A roof shout and a BBQ with the team. 🍔

On Wednesday, Holmes Construction teamed up with KeySkills Trainers and PlaceMakers to celebrate a milestone at Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Ngā Mokopuna, with a roof shout BBQ for Block 2.

A good chance to get together, enjoy some kai and recognise the hard mahi going into the project.

Block 1 roof shout still to come!

A huge shoutout to Lewis Bush on his Heartland XV selection! 👏Well deserved, mate. Bring it on! 💪

What a spot to work at! 🌊 With those views across the bay at Maraenui and some cracking weather rolling in, it’s hard to beat the location.

The team is making significant progress at Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Ngā Mokopuna, with concrete pours, steel reinforcement and framing progressing across the blocks. Roofing, exterior wraps and joinery are also coming together as the build takes shape.

Plenty happening on site, and not a bad view to take in while doing it.

A beautiful Wairarapa morning to celebrate the opening of Masterton District Council’s refurbished Queen Street offices.

The morning included a blessing and karakia with Rangitāne mana whenua, alongside Mayor Bex Johnson, to mark the opening of the refreshed space.

The refurbishment has created a fresh, calm and modern environment for Council staff to work and serve the Masterton community.

Working undercover 🥷

If you’ve been shopping at New World Carterton lately and haven’t noticed a thing… that’s exactly the point.

The Holmes Construction team have just wrapped up a major programme of work, carried out overnight so the supermarket could operate as usual during the day.

From ceiling to weather tightness repairs – a lot has been happening behind the scenes.

All while keeping business as usual for customers and staff.

A great example of careful planning, solid coordination and a team that knows how to work around a live environment.

Welcome to the team, Chris 👋

Meet Chris Albertson - our new Commercial Manager.

Chris brings more than 20 years in the NZ construction industry. He started out on the tools as a carpentry apprentice, moved into quantity surveying and has since held senior commercial roles across some big and complex projects.

That mix of hands-on building experience and commercial know-how is a great fit for Holmes.

Good to have you on board, Chris. Welcome to the team.
