Le Corbusier’s Couvent Sainte-Marie de La Tourette. Had the privilege to visit this fascinating piece of architecture today in France. Amazing to experience the playfulness of colour and light in person and a whole different take to the many churches we have visited over the last couple of weeks. Special to see this one alongside Nick and our partners. Have heard of Le Corbusier’s work and had some of the colourways on one of our projects a few years back so, great to see one of the examples of the real thing!

Time for a bit of team time and adventure, the MLB team hitting the high ropes at Redwoods Altitude in the Rotorua Redwoods recently. Really fun day. Was also a chance to celebrate the 12 years Nick has been with us and send him off into a future of architecture. Nick has been an integral part of our team and will be missed on our side, looking forward to still working together with him as architect in the near future!

A few handover pics before our clients move into their renewed home. This circa 1900 Freemans Bay house has been an absolute privilege to work on, rescuing its crumbling foundations and structure, to restrengthen and finish to our high level of craftsmanship alongside a great team of skilled trades. Kevin our foreman has led this project amazingly, keeping a close eye on every detail. Very proud of our team and the craft they produce. Again great clients and architect to work with to create such a magnificent home. Time for the movers (please don’t damage anything!) .architects .systems .lockhart

A massive day today for one of our own. Nick joined the team 12 years ago as an apprentice, developed through to the point where he has been Forman on some of most significant jobs as an incredible builder. An extension of his passion led him to study architecture over the last 3 years, was so good to celebrate his graduation today! Looking forward to working together as architect and builder in the near future!

Five years on since celebrating 25 years of MLB, can only mean it is now 30 years of MLB! Continually grateful for all the people we have interacted with over those years, clients who have trusted us to build their homes, architects who we have worked with to bring their designs to life, staff who have made this team what it is. Also always privileged to be able to carry our craft and enable our team to express their creativity in some incredible ways, always learning and creating new techniques to achieve some of the elements we are asked to make as part of the builds

Site visit today to check on one of our apprentices, currently building a holiday home for his family in the most amazing location on Northland. Thoroughly impressed and proud of Peter’s work and achievement in the significant challenge of leading the planning and building of this special place for his family. Big learning opportunities taken in his stride. 👍🏼

Very sad day today for us, a wonderful client who we have worked with over the last 15 years doing little and big bits of work to her Titirangi home has died after a short illness. Lorraine was gentle, but clear minded, she was kind to all our team and subbies who came through her house. Has been a huge privilege to work with her on her home. Our thoughts and prayers are with Ross and her wider whanau at this very hard and sad time.

Time to take a high view on life! Bit of team time, but also an early farewell to Edgard as he heads back home to Brazil soon 😕 A few of the lads took the opportunity to add in a bungy, Edgard doing it in style!
