We’re excited to be working on an extension project that will transform this home into a functional, modern living space. The current layout doesn’t make the most of the beautiful afternoon sun or provide the open-plan feel the homeowners are most wanting, so these are our main focus areas. Our design will include a generous kitchen, dining, and living area, perfect for entertaining, with excellent indoor-outdoor flow leading to a well-appointed outdoor entertaining space. The project will also feature a clever use of the existing nook space, a guest powder room, and a backyard designed for sports, including a basketball area. This extension will keep the home’s era in mind while creating a space that’s perfect for modern living, all in a cost-effective way.

As you step into the entry you are greeted with an expansive open plan living space bathed in natural light with a double-height ceiling. This area seamlessly blends functionality with timeless aesthetics. A state of the art media room is connected to this space that can be closed off when needed. A focal point of this design is the captivating feature stair that gracefully connects the two levels. A stunning centrepiece that draws the eye and invites exploration. Get clear on your "why" before your "what". Are you renovating to add space, boost value, or finally fix the things that annoy you every day? Knowing your why keeps decisions grounded when the exciting (and distracting) ideas start rolling in.

Set your budget first, not last. A realistic budget shapes your design from day one. It's much easier to design smart within a number than to fall in love with a plan and then have to unpick it later.

Think beyond today. Are you planning to grow your family, downsize eventually, or work from home more? A good reno should work for where you're headed, not just where you are now.

Don't skip the unglamorous stuff. Insulation, ventilation, and drainage aren't exciting, but they're what make a home comfortable to live in.

Build in a contingency. Older homes especially can surprise you once walls come off. A buffer in your budget and timeline means surprises are manageable, not stressful.
