Lucky for this customer we were upgrading their lighting and found this potential fire hazard in the roof space. The cause was from a halogen lamp that had got so hot it had melted the insulation of this cable exposing the copper conductors. Another great reason to replace old halogen fittings with led, as well as the power savings. This house went from 1400 watts of lighting to 168 watts and much brighter.
