This is a behind the scenes timelapse of a landscaping project we’ve been working on. We transformed this lawn area into a beautiful well-being and entertaining space. We integrated edibles, patio, pathways, outdoor shower, sauna, spa pool, rainwater harvesting and even a feature rock lifted into place.

From an agapanthus invasion to a new rock wall. We removed the soggy lawn and introduced a mix of NZ native full sun plants. The existing kōwhai attracts native birds so we made a feature of this and brought in a matching Kōwhai on the opposite side of the garden. Planting a flowering hedge along the top helps frame the rock wall which has some interesting contours making the entrance to the property low maintenance and more attractive.

She runs workshops and events in the spring to summer months and grows beautiful flowers here in Brightwater. We’ll be working on a plan of attack to bring in some tweaks to her garden. We are looking forward to seeing how this place changes in the years to come.
