Always great to see a plan come together 👌

So, it’s no secret that our roads have taken a battering this year, we’ve had a huge amount of rain this Winter which happens to be the worst enemy when it comes to roads!

There is a huge amount of tidy up and repair work to be done across the district! Our teams are on to it and doing their best despite the conditions.

One of our team mates captured this picture on Sunday looking down across Wanstead towards Flaxmill Bridge, with the recent works completed in the area this has improved the resilience of the road that has seen many a closure due to flooding.

Our works will improve that – but we always have more to do!

Thanks to funding from Kānoa - Regional Economic Development & Investment Unit(Provincial Growth Fund), this project saw the road lifted by up to 800mm’s across nearly 2kms of low lying road, the road was also shifted and widened in places by Russell Roads Ltd the waterway under and either side of Flaxmill Bridge saw local contractor CHB Earthmovers remove approximately 40,000m3 of silt to allow greater water passage.

It's a great outcome and feels fantastic to see the road sitting dry after so much rain ❤

Even though the weather isn’t the best we are still pushing on in between the showers. The Kereru Water Storage Project is nearing completion and looking great.

Justin and Simone Neville at CHB Earthmovers Ltd have received a new Next Gen Cat 336 excavator for their Waipukurau-based operation. The new Cat is working in the Central Hawkes Bay, and CHB is really impressed with all the Next Gen features and the power of the excavator. Justin Neville and son Oscar are pictured with the machine on delivery day. Sold by Territory Account Manager Heath Stewart.
