A great day out with the team at 5th Point recently.

We took the opportunity to get everyone together for some practical rescue training, working through a range of at-height rescue scenarios in a controlled environment. It's always valuable to get hands-on practice with the skills we hope we'll never need to use—but that we're prepared to rely on if the situation ever arises.

Days like these are also a great opportunity to catch up as a team, share knowledge, and learn from one another away from the day-to-day workload.

A big thank you to 5th Point for providing such an awesome facility. It was the perfect setting to spend time together, have a few laughs, and continue building the skills, confidence, and teamwork that help us look after one another on site.

We’re proud to share that Vertac is now a member of the New Zealand Green Building Council (NZGBC)! 🌿

For us, sustainability is about looking after the buildings and assets we already have. Through construction repairs, maintenance, remediation, and rope access solutions, we help extend the life of existing structures safely and efficiently.

Complex glazing projects don’t begin on the ropes — they begin with accurate measurements, detailed planning, and collaboration across every stage of the process.

From survey and design, to manufacturing and installation, every millimetre matters. Success comes from teams working together seamlessly — engineers, fabricators, project managers, and expert Rope Access Technicians all bringing their knowledge to the table.

Before a single panel is lifted, methods are reviewed, conditions are assessed, and the team brainstorms the safest and most efficient installation approach for the environment on the day. Wind, access, weight, sequencing — every detail counts.

It’s a privilege for the Vertac team to be working on one of Wellington’s most iconic buildings, accessed safely and efficiently using Rope Access and Building Maintenance Unit (BMU).

Our rope access technicians are currently undertaking detailed façade remediation works, including gasket replacement, membrane reapplication, and repairs to podium and awning areas—while also carefully investigating and resolving a range of water ingress points. Every step is delivered with precision, care, and respect for the building, its occupants, and our valued client. No two days are the same!

Our Auckland crew back on the tools completing a large-scale 6,000-linear-metre gasket replacement across the façade, maintaining strong productivity and working efficiently around Auckland’s unpredictable weather to ensure timely delivery for our client while upholding the highest standards of workmanship.
Scope of works includes:
• Removal of existing aged gaskets
• Thorough surface preparation to ensure optimal adhesion
• Installation of new PVC gaskets for improved weather-tightness and façade performance

Throwback to a special heritage restoration project 🏛️

This historic façade remediation was one of those jobs that really reminds us why we love what we do—bringing aged buildings back to life while protecting their original character and craftsmanship. Using rope access meant we could work efficiently, safely, and with minimal disruption to the surrounding area.
