Yep – your trusty heat pump isn’t just for heating and cooling… it’s also your secret weapon against the dreaded winter moisture monster. And no, we’re not being dramatic. Because with all that condensation on your windows, damp corners, and that weird moist feeling in the air – it's time to hit the DRY mode!

I need to vent a little here....maybe you do too?

It's that awesome time of year when we like to snuggle up next to a heater and read a book because it's cold and damp outside.

This cold damp air makes the bathroom all hot and steamy when you shower, sorry, it's not just you.

The air's moisture is also making your house harder and more costly to heat.

So, here are a few tips to help reduce the moisture in the air when you're showering:
*Make sure there's airflow, an extractor won't work if there is no air to replace what it's trying to take out. Make sure there is enough gap under the bathroom door to allow warm air from the rest of the house.
*DON'T crack a window, that introduces moist cold air, and increases steam and condensation.
*Preheat the room, run wall heaters or new fan forced 3-in-1s like in the picture for a few minutes before turning the shower on. Those old heat lamps really don't heat the room like this.
*Run the fan for a while after you shower, maybe get a run-on timer or a humidity sensor installed.
