Non-compliant window and door products are entering the New Zealand market at an increasing rate, and the risks sit with whoever holds the building.
The Window and Glass Association NZ has identified around 20 Auckland suppliers selling products that fail to meet Building Code requirements for structural performance, durability, or energy efficiency. Fake compliance documentation is making it difficult for builders, councils, and homeowners to identify the problem at point of purchase. Industry estimates put the national rate of questionable compliance at around one in ten products.
If a product fails, remediation costs and liability exposure fall on the homeowner or builder, regardless of what was assumed at the time of purchase.
Nebulite is a Window and Glass Association member and all Nebulite products are fully verified and compliant with New Zealand Building Code requirements.
