No.8 Workshop Wellington

No.8 Workshop Wellington No. 8 Building Recyclers is Wellington City’s one stop shop for French Doors, Single Doors, Windows and Flooring (Matai, Rimu). It is our goal to change this.

We are a sustainable joinery specialised in manufacturing, repair and restoration of wooden doors and windows.

✅ Experience
✅ Reliability
✅ Client satisfaction We have a talent for hunting and acquiring a variety of recyclable goods. We also offer a variety of services tailored to restore anything you might need when talking about doors and windows. Our in store carpenter has over 20 years of ex

perience and is capable of redeeming even the most seemingly hopeless of projects. We repair faulty fittings, superficial damages and deep, structural damages such as wood rot. The complete collection of our stock is fairly obtained. The majority of our stock is sourced from demolitions, renovations and auctions. We encourage anyone with access to recycled or salvaged goods, particularly relevant to our main trade categories, to contact us. If we deem it recyclable, fitting of our store criteria, we will perform to organise a method for transport. It is not popular knowledge that the purchase of recycling and restored goods occurs at a fraction of the cost of buying new. The price of buying new is expensive and is actually composed by two costs: the obvious cost is the one paid at the store when buying new; the less obvious cost is the missed chance for purchasing the rich history and craftsmanship that a restored item offers. A recycled and restored furnishing expresses great character, is beautiful without imitation, and can be trusted to last, having originally been built to survive. Our business collaborates to a more sustainable world - a hallmark of recycling. A large and much spoken problem is the wastefulness and how disposable most goods are nowadays. There is too much entering our landfills and it is too easy to do so, particularly when the market for recyclables is relatively small and under represented. The price of buying refurbished or restored is considerably lower than buying new and you not just add character to your home, but you also reduce your carbon footprint. At No. 8 Building Recyclers we believe and make an effort to work with sustainable business practices. This is our contribution to do good.

We’re proud to do restoration work.
Some people say, “If it’s rotten, just replace it.”
We see it differently.

There’s real value in preserving original timber, maintaining character, and repairing what can be saved. Restoration takes skill, patience, and craftsmanship.

A quality repair like this isn’t the easy option, it’s the right option.

Good restoration work deserves to be valued.

In Santiago, Chile, many traditional timber windows were made this way.
In New Zealand, the putty faces outside. 🇳🇿
How is it done in your country?

When the right tool doesn’t exist… you build it.
Felipe turned a handheld router into a custom table to get the perfect moulding.
That’s real problem solving.
